PLYMOUTH – A screening of “Top Gun” on a massive outdoor movie screen will accompany a chef-inspired menu, craft beer, wine and other beverages at an upcoming fundraiser for Habitat for Humanity of Greater Plymouth.
The nonprofit will host the fundraiser at Moonrise Cinemas’ outdoor venue in Plymouth on Friday, July 16.
Proceeds will benefit the organization’s work in building and repairing affordable housing for low-income families in Plymouth, Kingston, Carver, Plympton, Middleboro and Lakeville.
The family-friendly event will include a casual reception with food, drinks and games from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., followed by a screening of “Top Gun” on a 52-foot movie screen.
After the movie, attendees can stay for friendly competition of music trivia with late-night refreshments and socializing.
This will be Habitat’s first in-person fundraiser since the start of the coronavirus pandemic.
“We are really looking forward to bringing our community of supporters together again, particularly after this long, difficult year,” Jim Middleton, executive director of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Plymouth, said in statement. “We also hope to welcome many new faces from the public at Sunset at Moonrise too, and encourage anyone to join us on July 16th in support of affordable housing for our region. ”
Vehicle passes are $60 and available for those who want to stay in their “bubble” while watching the movie. Foot passes are $30 and available for picnic table seating under the stars.
Each foot pass allows entry for one adult and comes with a $10 food and beverage voucher for use at the Moonrise concessions. Each vehicle pass allows entry for up to five people and comes with a $20 food and beverage voucher. Additional food, beer, wine and non-alcoholic drinks can be purchased.
Tickets are sold first-come, first-served and can be purchased at givebutter.com/sunset-at-moonrise.
