Consumers warn government off meddling with food and beverage promotions

03 Feb 2021 — Concerns are growing among UK consumers that if the government eliminates some in-store food promotions, their shopping bills will rapidly rise. A survey commissioned by the Food and Drink Federation (FDF) has found that 73 percent of in-store shoppers say they usually or always purchase products on promotion when shopping. Meanwhile, a quarter (25 percent) of respondents suggested that if there were no promotions, they would be concerned about their shopping affordability.

Detroit food workers can get shots now; Duggan says city needs to ‘close the gap’ on vaccinations

The list of essential workers who can get vaccinated at the drive-thru TCF Center garage site in downtown Detroit now includes restaurant workers, grocery store workers, janitors and security guards.

Employees in those categories who either live or work in Detroit are eligible. They can call (313) 230-0505 to schedule an appointment.

Detroit is expanding the number of people it can take at its mass vaccination center after receiving a vaccine supply boost this week, up from 5,100 the previous week to 15,000 doses. The city started out giving the public Pfizer vaccines but is now receiving Moderna.

UPDATE: Former police K-9 who survived 19 days after crash heads home with loved ones | Critter Corner

HOLBROOK, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) – A retired police K-9 who bolted after an accident in northern Arizona in January has been found safe, after surviving 19 days in the wilderness, braving blizzards and foraging for food. Now, after loved ones came to pick her up, she is now on the road back to her forever home in Arkansas.

“Nushka,” a Belgian Malinois, ran from the scene of a single-vehicle collision between Heber-Overgaard and Holbrook on Jan. 11. Sadly, Nushka’s owner died in the crash. Immediately after the crash, Nushka ran off, and was last seen heading east toward Snowflake.
