‘Made famous by TikTok. I’d seen this recipe floating around so I thought I’d give it a go,’ Jules said in her Instagram video.

‘Feta was sold out in some countries because of it’s awesomeness… So delicious, so easy and just a handful of ingredients. Everyone please try this.’

To make the dish, Jules placed a whole block of feta in the middle of a baking tray, surrounded by two punnets of cherry tomatoes and five garlic cloves left unpeeled.

Next, she drizzled a generous amount of olive oil, followed by a sprinkle of oregano.

How to make baked feta pasta

Roast a whole block of feta, cherry tomatoes, garlic, oregano with olive oil in the oven at 220C for 25 minutes

Roast a whole block of feta, cherry tomatoes, garlic, oregano with olive oil in the oven at 220C for 25 minutes

INGREDIENTS

1 block of Greek feta cheese

500g or 2 punnets of cherry tomatoes

5 garlic cloves

Oregano

1 packet of dried spaghetti

Olive oil

Handful of parsley for garnishing

METHOD

Preheat oven at 220C.

Place cherry tomatoes and five garlic cloves left unpeeled in a tray with baking paper. Then place a whole block of feta in the centre.

Drizzle a generous amount of olive oil and sprinkle oregano all over the ingredients.

Pop the tray into the oven for about 25 minutes, or until the cheese melts and the tomatoes and garlic are soft.

While the ingredients are roasting in the oven, cook the pasta according to the packet instructions and finely chop the parsley.

Once the ingredients are roasted, remove the skin off the garlic, then use a fork to crush the cherry tomatoes and feta.

Mix the pasta with the cheesy tomato sauce until the ingredients are well combined. Serve with parsley.

She popped the tray into the oven at 220 degrees Celsius for about 25 minutes.

While the ingredients are roasting in the oven, she prepared the spaghetti and finely chopped the parsley to use for garnishing.

‘You can cook whatever pasta your family eats,’ she said.

Once the ingredients are roasted, Jules removed the skin off the garlic, then she used a fork to ‘mash’ the cherry tomatoes and feta.

‘What I’m going to do is mash them altogether so it becomes a nice, mushy, saucy thing… squashed all the tomatoes so they’re nice and juicy,’ she said.

‘If TikTok says it’s delicious, then I believe it,’ Jules said, as she tasted the dish.

Clearly surprise after taking her first bite, Jules said the dish was the ‘fastest, easiest and most tasty pasta’ she’s ever made.

‘I’m backing myself guys, go and make this immediately,’ she added.

The dish was created in 2019 by Finnish food blogger Jenni Häyrinen who named her recipe ‘Uunifetapasta’ which means oven-baked feta pasta in Finnish.

Her recipe includes red chilli and fresh basil leaves.
