Inspectors tag deli, fast-food restaurant

Two Maricopa eateries were marked down by Pinal County health inspectors from Jan. 12-Feb. 10.

A dishwasher sanitizer at Jack in the Box was found to be at 0.0 ppm chlorine. The dishwasher and dishes inside were removed from service. The unit was not to be used until repaired to provide 50-100 ppm chlorine. A re-inspection was scheduled.

The inspection also found internal temperatures of jalapeno cheese dishes, milk, ice cream and salads held in the upright reach-in cooler were 55-58 degrees. The manager voluntarily discarded the items. Food in cold holding

McDonald’s Just Announced a Major Partnership With This Food Company

McDonald’s is expected to launch its first plant-based burger, the McPlant, later this year, and it sounds like this is only the first of many new plant-based options for the chain. Beyond Meat, which is partnering with McDonald’s on the McPlant patty, has announced a three-year global deal with the fast-food giant. According to VegNews, the partnership will result in several innovative protein alternatives for the McDonald’s menu.

Fast food worker goes on full-out homophobic rant & kicks out gay delivery drivers / LGBTQ Nation

A KFC employer was recorded in a viral rant yelling homophobic remarks at a gay couple that happened through his drive-thru. The restaurant chain has announced that the franchisee was fired after the video went viral online.

“You’re f*cking queer, so you need to get the f*ck out of here,” the worker demanded to Joshua Garner and Lee Walls. “F*ck the video, f*g,” he screeched as he walked away from the couple, simply trying to complete delivery of a DoorDash order.
